It may seem obvious...we need to breathe to survive. Yes. I have known that for a very long time:) But learning HOW to breathe to calm your mind and body is different. Practice Belly Breathing today. Take long, slow, deep breaths with your hands on your belly to make sure your belly is going up and down as you breathe rather than your chest. You can imagine you are smelling a fragrant flower if it helps. Breathing this way will help relax you. Try it when your kids are on your last nerve. Try it when you are stressed about work. Try it when you are perfectly happy:) When you have the hang of it, teach your entire family. Even your toddlers!!! Have a great day. Remember...breathe.

I spent mother's day with my family rather than blogging...so here's my belated post:) lol! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, grandmas, and those who play the role of mom. I hope you had a chance to give your mom a hug today and thank her for just being her. If your mom is in heaven, I know she is looking down on all of us moms and giving us the strength we need in our busy mama lives. Take some time today (even if it's just one or two minutes) to take a deep breath and relax. Count your blessings today. Living the life of a mom is so extremely busy but it really is wonderful. Maybe you can sign yourself up for a yoga class for your own mother's day gift. If not, try just 2 minutes of yoga at some point during your day. Stand up tall, stretch, move, bend in anyway you want to. It does not have to be formal. Just breathe and move in a relaxing way today. Happy Mother's Day!!! |
