Here are some fun yoga games to help you and your little ones warm up-inside and out.
Polar Bear Games: Crawl around the room on your hands and FEET, lumbering around like a big polar bear. Imagine you are very large and white, looking for some adventure in the snow and ice. Dont forget polar bears swim! Move your arms and legs in a swimming motion while chomping your teeth looking for yummy fish!
Snowman Pose: Take turns pretending to be snowmen. Have your child stand tall and strong in mountain pose (snowman pose just for today) as you dress them in a silly hat, light scarf, and mittens. Standing still helps increase their focus. If they are hungry feed them a carrot nose! Now it's your turn to stand like a snowman and have your child dress you. You may want to kneel down so they can reach you. When you are finished, all the snowmen MELT in the warm sun....sun provided by your own imaginations:)
Snowball fight! Try balling up paper (please use scrap paper like old coloring book pages) to make your own indoor snowballs. Hiding behind couches and chairs makes this feel like you are outside hiding behind trees having an old fashioned snowball fight. This is a fun way to encourage your kids to turn off the computer and TV and start moving. I promise there will be laughing involved. Finish with a mug of hot cocoa:)
